Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives (Finance)



The Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives will play a pivotal role in driving the execution of Business Line's key strategic priorities. This highly visible position is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing cross-functional initiatives that directly contribute to the company's growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, results-oriented leader with a proven track record of managing complex projects, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and translating strategic vision into actionable plans.

What you'll do

  • Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of critical strategic initiatives from inception through completion, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, resource allocation, and success metrics.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, coordinating efforts across departments such as Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to achieve shared objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and internal data analysis to identify new opportunities and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop compelling business cases, financial models, and presentations to secure buy-in from senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership on emerging trends, potential disruptions, and areas for innovation.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for strategic initiatives, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, providing regular updates on initiative progress, challenges, and outcomes.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to align teams, resolve conflicts, and drive consensus.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and process optimization within strategic initiatives and across the organization.
  • Implement best practices in project management, change management, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish frameworks and tools to track the impact and ROI of strategic initiatives.

What experience you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. An MBA or Master's degree in a relevant discipline is highly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in strategy, management consulting, program management, or a similar strategic role within a [relevant industry, e.g., technology, finance, healthcare] company.

    Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong aptitude for quantitative analysis and data-driven decision-making.
  • Superior communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate teams, navigate ambiguity, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools ([e.g., Jira, Aha]).
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate broad concepts into concrete action plans.
