Neuro Cardio - APP - Internal Medicine (Finance)



We are seeking a motivated individual of excellent character and clinical acumen, who is seeking to expand their scope of practice and serve in a pioneering role as the first full-time Program Clinician and Manager for the Neuro-Cardiac Program at USF Health. This program is the first of its kind in the state of Florida and nation. Its success will in no small way be dependent on the ability of this individual to work with leadership, physicians, extenders, nurses and staff in both the departments of Neurology and Cardiology to develop the clinical, academic and community-facing basis upon which the program can grow.Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. Learn more at www.usf.edu .CLINICAL - This individual will have dedicated clinical time both at Tampa General Hospital (TGH), where they will complete inpatient Neuro-cardiac consultation daily, and at USF, where they will complete afternoon cardiology clinic (4 days per week).

This individual will serve as the primary referral point-of-contact for patients and referring providers, both within the TGH and USF community as well as from outside sources. He/she will connect patients to the appropriate scheduler for provider appointments or procedure scheduling. He/she will be responsible for following up with referring providers to ensure the care-continuum loop is completed.

TEACHING - Along with physician leadership, the Program Clinician will serve as a primary liaison with the community and referring providers. In addition to direct interaction with patients, this will include interaction with USF and TGH Public relations and CME offices, as well as our industry partners. This will also include public appearances at therapy-awareness and teaching events, including dinner presentations, CME events, academic meetings and conferences.

RESEARCH - This individual will oversee primary maintenance and management of clinical and IRB-approved data registries for Neuro-cardiac devices. He/she may be assisted by rotating trainees and physician staff. This will entail inclusion as a core-investigator in IRB listings, and authorship in manuscripts that may arise from program academic efforts. Population of data registries will begin at initial patient intake, when deemed appropriate.

ADMINISTRATIVE - The Program clinician will have reserved a half-day per week for completion of administrative duties, drawn from clinical and research duties described above.

OTHER - Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department. Apply
