Manager, Credit Risk (Finance)

We are searching for a Manager, Credit Risk to manage a team.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Manages credit approval, review, and/or debt restructuring units through the direct management of a group of managers. Oversees, plans, and directs the activities for the units, ensuring that the business objectives are being met
  • Manages the loan approval, review, documentation, and collateral evaluation processes to ensure compliance with company¿s policies and government regulations
  • Assesses the potential risk of loan portfolios and reports to senior management on a regular basis. Reviews problem loans, assesses risk to the bank, and takes appropriate action
  • Oversees the collection, restructuring, and monitoring of troubled loan portfolios
  • Seasoned leader with extensive business experience, and broad functional expertise, with focus on proactive strategic leadership
  • Responsible for managing multiple units or functions through the direct management of a group of managers
  • Oversees, plans and directs the activities for the Unit, ensuring that Business objectives are being met
  • Develops, Implements and communicates an overall strategy to meet both the Business Unit's and Corporation's strategic plan. Directs the activities of those areas toward accomplishing those objectives
  • Assumes accountability for financial and staffing resources, including developing and managing capital and expense budgets, liaising cross-function to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity
  • Assumes full accountability for the performance and profitability of the area as compared to the plan

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment.
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to direct the activities for the multiple units.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
  • In-dept credit approval, review and commercial lending knowledge is required
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change
  • College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience in credit approval or review,
  • commercial lending area, with prior management experience is require

Salary Range:
$171,700 - 300,500 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
