Painter (Construction)
Responsible for painting the exterior and interior areas of a company's projects
Execute pre-painting activities, including cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, and masking of adjacent surfaces prior to painting, papering, texturing, etc. if required
Follow management's instructions in maintaining an inventory of paint and supplies
Follow the manager's instruction in executing the job utilizing appropriate finishes and applications
Comply with OSHA/SDS guidelines with respect to the use of hazardous chemicals
Cary out after project cleaning of areas, supplies, and equipment at the completion of project.
Assist in storing leftover paint in the appropriate locations
Support maintenance/construction team with special projects as needed.
Joining drywall panels using tape and plaster.
Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels.
Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
Layering plaster or spackle with trowels to create a flat surface.
Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface.
Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster in preparation for finishing work.
Managing and maintaining all the required equipment for the job.
Keeping your supervisor abreast of your progress and reporting any job-related issues.
Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE and REGISTRATION:
High School diploma or GED, required.
Completion of vocational school or technical college or apprenticeship program, preferred.
Valid Arkansas Driver's License
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Experience preparing surfaces, cleaning, scraping, and sanding.
Experience with drywall paneling, plaster and crack repair.
General aptitude for and a willingness to perform all-round mechanical, electrical, carpentry, and varied maintenance repairs
Ability to understand directions and read blueprints
Must have a good grasp of mathematics
Ability to use fixed and portable power tools
Ability to utilize tools of carpentry trade
Knowledge of carpentry trade principles
Ability to operate a forklift or vertical lift
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Must have a good understanding of technical terminology
Ability to use a computer
Ability to follow safety practices and recognize safety hazards
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and public
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians other departmental personnel, and outside agencies frequently while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.

Work may require using ladders or scaffolding. The mechanic must assume awkward and cramped positions to reach parts of the unit(s) during installation, servicing and maintenance.
The work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds or more), and perform other similar actions during the workday.
