Staff Accountant (Remote) (Biotech)

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role is critical to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and effective support for both club-level and corporate operations.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing monthly close activities, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and supporting audits. This individual will handle a variety of revenue, expenses, fixed assets, debt, and cash-related accounting functions while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial results. The role also includes assisting with ad hoc analysis and projects to support business decision-making.
Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close process.Prepare and record journal entries including accruals, amortizations and allocations using Oracle NetSuite Financials. Analyze and reconcile accounts related to general & administrative, direct, and indirect expenses.Maintain debt schedules, interest calculations, and record debt-related journal entries for short and long-term debt.Prepare and maintain fixed asset schedules including additions, disposals, capital expenditures, and roll-forwards via Oracle NetSuite Fixed Assets module.Review vendor invoices to determine capital expenditure classification vs. repair & maintenance expense according to GAAP guidelines.Manage financed equipment schedules and related journal entries for short and long-term debt reporting.Prepare and file property taxes for each legal entity.Analyze utilities spend and calculate monthly expense accruals due to seasonality.Prepare account schedules and support balance sheet reconciliations to ensure compliance with GAAP.Record cash activity and reconcile bank accounts. Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure accurate expense reporting.Partner with respective departments to address club Profit & Loss statement questions from field management.Assist in impairment analysis of fixed assets and intangible assets.Support annual audit, interim testing, and provide necessary schedules to external auditors.Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed. Miscellaneous other duties.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in accounting is required.3-5 years progressive accounting experience, preferably in a multi-location service-based industry. Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with month-end close.Experience with NetSuite Financial systems (or similar ERP) strongly preferred.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
