Senior Manager - Application Development (Finance)

Job Description:

Vertex, Inc. seeks a Senior Manager - Application Development (King of Prussia, PA), to lead and manage multiple engineering scrum teams who are responsible for building and maintaining integration solutions for Vertex's products.

• Oversee the software development function including the implementation of business plans, policies, and procedures.
• Build and maintain new existing integrations/connectors to all products in our product portfolio that are integral for customers to consume our end products.
• Provide technical design and solutions to the product and business requirements for these integrations.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Product Managers to develop the roadmap for Vertex products.
• Work closely with architecture, user experience, product, and engineering teams to ensure delivered products are in alignment with corporate strategy, engineering best practices, and the company's high-quality standards.
• Manage and coach team on all personnel related processes including hiring, performance management, employee relations, compensation and rewards, and employee development.
• Determine appropriate resourcing of staff to achieve the team's goals and objectives.
• Prepare and manage budget as assigned for each project.
• Analyze variances and initiate corrective actions to maximize operational performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field.
• 4 years of experience following the standards of REST and SOAP web services.
• 3 years of experience using AWS and cloud infrastructures.
• 3 years of experience performing SAFe Agile practices.
• 2 years of experience practicing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• 2 years of experience using the .Net platform.
• Eligible to work remotely 100% of time anywhere in the continental U.S.
