Job Description:

The Graphics Designer is responsible for creating graphics design and desktop production in support of the print, web, and presentation needs across the Firm's practice groups, offices, and departments. In this role, he/she will create visual concepts that communicate and reflect the Firm's brand while informing, educating and inspiring a variety of audiences.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Creates, develops and designs all phases of assigned graphics and desktop production projects through final production, including proofing and distribution. Projects include, but are not limited to, advertisements, brochures, e-publications, logos, news-letters, charts, presentations, invitations, event materials, marketing collateral, e-marketing campaigns, and web graphics.

  • Works independently with imagination, originality and creative talents to facilitate vision for end product.

    Adheres to the Firm's established standards for branding and unique identity in the marketplace.

  • Works collaboratively and inclusively with other team members to pitch ideas and brainstorm during the execution of final design concepts, providing input to ensure an effective result.

  • Provides editorial and proofing expertise to quality control projects before they are returned to clients for review. Works with the Client and Practice Development (CPD) team to ensure projects adhere to the Firm's style standards and are correct and accurate.

  • Reviews other materials and provides constructive suggestions.

  • Manages attorney photography process, which includes, but is not limited to, communications with attorneys, scheduling appointments, process tracking, cropping and filing images, managing photo files, providing photos upon request, uploading photo files to website, and final quality assurance.

  • Assists in designing complex graphics, charts or templates for PowerPoint presentations for attorneys or department leads.

  • Manages print production jobs assigned to third-party vendors, overseeing the process from start to finish.

  • Assists CPD in applying graphic standards internally and externally.

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.

  • Experience:  Eight to ten years of professional creative designing for print, web and PowerPoint is required, preferably in a large multi-office professional services environment.

  • Skills: Must have outstanding organization and project management skills, including the ability to multi-task, manage priorities and resources, and work in a proactive manner on tight deadlines. Expert-level knowledge in all aspects of graphic design including concepts, typography, imagery, color and layout are required.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite software.  Must be gifted in determining ways to capture complex material in an easy-to-understand visual format.  Experience working with design vendors is preferred, to include requesting estimates, sending jobs to print, and management of the print production process.  This job requires excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.  Effective communication skills, verbal and written, are required. 

     

    The ability to work with a variety of individuals and build effective working relationships within and outside of the Firm is needed.  Must be able to work with or without direct supervision, knowing when to consult and when to decide. Flexibility to work beyond scheduled hours in order to ensure timely completion of projects is required. 

  • Certifications: Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) preferred.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in an office environment and perform tasks that may require sitting, standing, and using office equipment.

The Compensation range for this role is 28.92 to 36.15 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
