Engineering Technician 3 (Finance)

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize enterprise systems such as SAP, EAM, SNOW, Ariba, Asana, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to plan and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Maintain equipment records, maintenance plans, and service documentation in alignment with Equipment Lifecycle Management processes.
  • Schedule and coordinate preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs with vendors, internal stakeholders, and external service providers.
  • Submit requests for PM setup and date modifications; update and align PM schedules accordingly.
  • Execute, assign, and close maintenance work orders.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendor representatives and Field Service Engineers (FSEs).
  • Escort vendors during onsite visits and manage associated logistics including badge access, Envoy invitations, and Outlook calendar scheduling.
  • Establish and maintain a vendor escorting process in collaboration with Equipment Engineering, Lab Management Operations, and vendors.
  • Analyze and filter equipment databases to determine equipment status, location, and ownership.
  • Support service contract detail validation by confirming equipment location and status, and department ownership.
  • Identify and resolve gaps in coordination of maintenance between vendors and internal teams; propose and implement process improvements.
  • Support service contract alignment, renewal, or consolidation strategies.
  • Respond to and manage planned outages and unplanned events (e.g., emergency repairs, vendor rescheduling, and parts delays) to reduce equipment downtime.
  • Prioritize and independently manage multiple tasks to meet timelines, project milestones, and goals.
  • Apply basic problem-solving techniques to resolve day-to-day operational issues involving equipment and stakeholder coordination.
  • Prepare and maintain metrics, reports, and tracking tools to measure team performance and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Practice Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and ensure all documentation meets internal compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with management to identify issues related to inventory, scheduling, and planning.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, EAM, Ariba, SNOW, Asana, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Solid organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and equipment lifecycle management is preferred.
  • Should have the ability to effectively and efficiently coordinate several tasks at the same time, and work independently.
  • Must have strong communications skills, team skills and computer skills.

Experience/Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred
  • At least 2-4 years of related experience

The estimated base hourly range for the Engineering Technician 3 role based in the United States of America is: $26.97 - $40.43. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual's qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
