Plant IT Technician (Security)

The Plant IT Technician is responsible for installing and supporting the IT hardware, software, and network infrastructure at the Meadowbrook (Holland, MI) manufacturing facility. The position is primarily based in Holland, MI but will require occasional travel to support the Ft. Wayne site. The Plant IT Technician reports directly to the USCAN Plant Systems East Team Lead with a dotted line relationship to the local plant management teams.

How You'll Do It:

  • Triage IT hardware, software, and network issues in an office and on the manufacturing plant floor
    • Configure and deploy IT hardware equipment in an office environment, such as printers, conference phones, conferencing systems, while following hardware and software standards
    • Configure and deploy IT equipment on the plant floor, such as Zebras, Satōs, PCs, thin clients, scan guns, radio frequency (RF) devices, and payroll clocks
    • Wear plant personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the plant floor and follow safety equipment programs according to company standards
    • Facilitate the full PCLM process
    • Maintain security, appearance, and organization of the server room
    • Manage SLAs and resolve incidents in ServiceNow
    • Be the on-site contact for service providers if needed
    • Primary interface of communication to Plant Management regarding WAN/LAN outages for infrastructure maintenance and planned hardware / software deployments
    • Partner across local departments—Engineering, HR, Maintenance—to advise on deployments and execute projects
    • Engage with the USCAN Plant Systems Team to execute projects across the region
    • Make recommendations to the USCAN Plant Systems Team when IT hardware and/or software upgrades are required and assist with quotes for procurement through approved vendors
    • Ensure new IT hardware serial numbers are recorded and included under existing maintenance contracts
    • Regularly spend portions of the day on the plant floor and occasionally lift parcels up to 40 pounds
    • Travel may be required (approximately 10%) .

What We Look For:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 1+ year of professional IT technical support experience; OR a 2-year degree plus 2+ years of experience; OR 4 years of relevant combined education and experience.

  • Hands-on experience supporting PCs, printers, thin clients, scan guns, RF devices, and troubleshooting IT hardware and software.

  • Strong understanding of PCs, software installation, reimaging, Intune Active Directory (AD), and Azure environments.

  • Ability to be on-call to resolve urgent IT issues outside of normal business hours.

Preferred:

  • Relevant certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MCSE, or CCNA.

  • Knowledge of networking and administration concepts, including Access Points, Switches, VOIP, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, and Azure environments.
