Iva Post Acute is a beautiful 60-bed skilled nursing and rehab facility conveniently located in Iva , just a short distance from Anderson and Abbeville, South Carolina. The Floor Tech is responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet areas throughout the nursing home ๐Ÿก. This includes cleaning, stripping, waxing, buffing, and shampooing floors to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Key Responsibilities:

  • ๐Ÿงผ Sweep, mop, scrub, strip, wax, and buff hard surface floors using industrial floor care equipment
  • ๐Ÿงฝ Shampoo and extract carpets as scheduled
  • ๐Ÿชฃ Maintain all floor equipment in clean and good working condition
  • ๐Ÿšง Post safety signs and ensure wet floors are marked to prevent slips and falls
  • ๐Ÿ” Follow a preventive maintenance schedule for floor care
  • ๐Ÿงบ Collect and dispose of trash in designated receptacles
  • ๐Ÿงพ Document floor care tasks in accordance with facility standards and cleaning schedules
  • ๐Ÿ’ฌ Communicate effectively with nursing staff and housekeeping team to coordinate cleaning around resident activities
  • โœ… Adhere to all infection control, safety, and sanitation procedures
  • ๐Ÿ“‹ Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed

๐Ÿ“Œ Qualifications:

  • ๐Ÿซ High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • ๐Ÿ”„ Previous experience in floor care in a healthcare or institutional setting required.
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • ๐Ÿ’ช Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods)
  • ๐Ÿ“… Schedule to include weekends and holidays
  • ๐Ÿง Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with elderly residents and coworkers

Maintain all public and common areas throughout the day including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors. Maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms. Maintain handrails to ensure they are clean and free of debris. Clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures. towel bars, towel dispensers. Empty trash cans and replace liners. Sweep and mop floors. Utilize proper safety measures when cleaning, including the use of caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of the residents. Use supplies and equipment in a safe manner by following the user manual instructions. Maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner. Notify the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing immediately regarding resident safety issues or concerns. Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies are needing replenished. Excellent customer skills and positive attitude. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work independently or with a team. Supervisory Requirements This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Qualification Education and/or Experience Minimum requirement to perform the essential functions of this position is a High School Diploma or a GED. Experience working in a long term care facility preferred. Language Skills Ability to read and understand procedure and instruction manuals and directions. Mathematical Skills Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Fluent in written and spoken English.
