Open Rank, Full Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant (Finance)



The School of Aging Studies at the University of South Florida (USF) invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor position available beginning in August 2026, who will be appointed to a 9-month contract. We seek researchers from broad research areas related to aging research. There are many opportunities to link with faculty in the School of Aging Studies and campus wide including but not limited to palliative care, technology and aging, mental health, health policy, long-term care, family caregiving, cognitive aging, and integrative health. We have a particular emphasis on applied research that is aimed at improving clinical practice, public policy, and the well-being of older adults and their families. USF has joined the elite list of 71 American Association of Universities and campus leadership is emphasizing recruiting faculty who are or who can become high impact researchers.Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in Gerontology, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of hire.

• Demonstrated record of achievement in academic research and teaching.

• A clear track record of a program of research that is promising as a future direction in aging research.

Preferred Qualifications for Assistant Professor:

• A track record of ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers (medicine, nursing, engineering, business, etc.).

• Experience and excellence in undergraduate/graduate teaching and mentoring graduate students.

• Post-doctoral research experience with the potential or record of external funding.

Preferred Qualifications for Associate/Full Professor

• A track record of ability to collaborate with and/or lead teams of interdisciplinary researchers (medicine, nursing, engineering, business, etc.).

• Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate/graduate teaching and mentoring graduate students.

• A successful track record of external funding, especially from federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health or the National Science Foundation.

• Current external funding, especially from federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health or the National Science Foundation.

• International and/or national reputation as a scholar and leader in research and service related to aging, including many publications in high impact scholarly journals, high levels of citations, holding leadership positions in professional organizations related to aging research, and membership or leadership on the editorial boards of prominent professional journals related to aging.
