Maintenance Porter (Finance)



Job Summary

The maintenance porter is responsible for the general maintenance of the clubhouse, pool, spa, and common areas around the clubhouse, retention pond and all equipment therein, ensuring that high standards of quality are maintained throughout the club's premises for the benefit of the residents.

The Maintenance Porter reports to the Clubhouse Manager or the Manager's designate.

Examples of Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for routine maintenance and cleanliness of the clubhouse, grounds, ponds and lakes.
  • Maintain interior and exterior facilities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with sub-contractors and/or established vendors for repair and maintenance.
  • Monitor maintenance supplies and submit orders as needed.
  • Install, repair and paint signs, curbs, concrete areas.
  • Empty trashcans in the clubhouse, around pool, and around the lake.
  • Set up and take down tables and chairs as required for various clubhouse functions.
  • Clean deck chairs and tables around the pool area.
  • Clean debris from the pool as needed.
  • Manage and assist with contracted pest control program for the clubhouse and pool area.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Clubhouse equipment.
  • Assist, as needed, the pool/spa maintenance contractor activities.
  • Identify and manage a routine maintenance program for the facilities.
  • Pressure cleans to sidewalks, signs, rails, benches, trash cans, etc. when needed.
  • Willing and available to work hours outside the normal schedule when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Clubhouse Manager or the Manager's designate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (G.E.D.) required.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required and own vehicle. Mileage will be paid.
  • Minimum of 2 years of facility and equipment maintenance experience.
  • Ability to follow manual & operating instructions. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and internet.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Communicates clearly & professionally. Contributes to a positive internal & external customer experience. Willing to help others. Maintains composure in challenging situations.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude. Acts in accordance with company vision, mission and values.

  • Experience with working with sub-contractors and/or established vendors.
  • Takes accountability for own performance.
  • Assists Clubhouse Manager with anticipating budget needs for following year. Provides Clubhouse Manager with weekly updates of current projects.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing from 25 to 50 pounds.; load and unload/move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; walk; climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, or rain.
