Supervisor, Equipment Maintenance (Finance)

This position is responsible for the direct supervision of employees that inspect maintain, repair and clean vehicles and equipment. This position also supervises the storeroom and Maintenance Sign-Out and Service/Cleaning employees. This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules of the Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
ESSENTIAL:

  • Recruits staff to include interviewing, hiring, assigning work, training, coaching, and counseling to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures. Conducts performance review, and holds employees accountable for performance of their responsibilities. 
  • Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs and monitors maintenance activities through RTD Maintenance Reporting System programs and other tracking systems. Monitors and follows up on coach and equipment warranty issues.
  • Conducts scheduled inspections of work area to ensure fleet equipment, inventory and facilities are maintained in clean, safe and functional operating condition.
  • Implements security measures to comply with Homeland Security guidelines. 
  • Coordinates scheduling of buses for all scheduled maintenance
  • Ensures compliance with Local, State and Federal regulations.

  • All other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in electrical, mechanical or hydraulic heavy duty equipment repair.
  • A minimum of one year supervisory experience in transit/vehicle maintenance operation, including supervision in a union environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in safety procedures, HAZMAT and MSDS.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in fleet software applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to become skilled in Oracle and Maximus within three months of hire.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; explosives and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay Range:

$77,437.00 - $109,380.25 Annual
