Assistant Professor - Modern Philosophy (Finance)



The Department of Philosophy at the University of South Florida invites applications for a 9-month, full-time and tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning on August 7, 2026. Salary is negotiable.

The minimum requirement for this position is a Ph.D. in Philosophy or cognate field in hand by time of appointment. AOS: Early Modern Philosophy. AOC: open. The Ph.D. program in Philosophy at USF has a major emphasis in the History of Philosophy.

Preference will be given to applicants who have at least one year of teaching experience in the listed area of specialization, with records of strong research combined with outstanding continued research potential and demonstrated excellence in teaching philosophy, and to those with potential to contribute to USF's strategic plan.
