Systems Software Engineering Intern, GPU Virtualization - Fall 2025 (Finance)

We are now looking for a Systems Software Engineering Intern for the GPU-Virtualization SW team! As a Systems Software Engineering intern you will help build the Next Generation computing platforms at NVIDIA. The applications of these platforms are wide-ranging from PC gaming to deep learning on large, interconnected clusters. You will need to have a strong foundation in computer systems. As a System engineering intern, you will program down to the metal and be comfortable around hardware specs. Required expertise includes operating systems principles such as memory management and scheduling, strong programming in C/C++, strong computer architecture and organization fundamentals.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be working on a variety of hypervisors and write driver/kernel SW for supporting GPUs in virtual machines
  • Work closely with architects and software engineers to design, develop, and debug many functional aspects of our cutting edge technology devices
  • Conduct performance analyses and debug to identify bottlenecks and optimizations

What we need to see:

  • Pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent emphasis
  • You have strong C programming skills with assembly experience, as well as having shown initiative in pursuing independent coding projects
  • Course in OS/kernel systems
  • Solid engineering background and understanding of good code methodology
  • Kernel experience with Linux or Windows systems is helpful
  • You have curiosity about low level operating system knowledge - specifically memory/resource management, interconnects, scheduling, and hardware virtualization
  • Familiarity with computer system architectures and the hardware/software interface layer models

The hourly rate for our interns is 18 USD - 71 USD. Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
