Treating Engineer Helper (6pm-6am) (Finance)
Our Fulton, KY Tie Treating Plant is hiring a Treating Engineer Helper to support operations and help ensure the safe and efficient treatment of railroad ties. The starting wage is $17.51/hour with a $1.00 shift differential.
Position Summary: Primary function is to assist in the handling, manufacture, and processing of lumber and round stock. Operating power tools and equipment as directed.
Schedule: Week 1: Wednesday and Thursday 6pm-6am
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6pm-6am
Principal Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment: forklift, bobcat & pallet jack
- Performs inventory counts
- Assist in loading and unloading of trucks and trams using a forklift and hoist
- Cleanup of yard, processing systems, or other areas as required using pressure washer, broom, brush, squeegee, shovel, etc.
- Identify and inspect materials for conformance
- Inspect binders and cables
- Participates and contributes to company safety program
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED; or
- Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- License/Certification: Forklift and Bobcat Certified
- Required plant safety orientation.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
