Why this role is important to us

Global Billing is responsible for all of State Street's client billing processes across the globe. Global Billing is undergoing a multi-year transformation spanning people and operating model, processes and controls, data automation and technology. As we continue to reshape our target state platform footprint, the Global Billing team is looking for an application owner to oversee the different billing applications in order to support BAU.

Job Purpose

State Street has committed to significantly automating, standardlizing, and streamlining the technology and data associated to its varied billing processes. This role will responsible for the entire lifecycle of an application, ensuring it meets business needs, maintains compliance, and communicates effectively with stakeholders, while also managing the application's performance and addressing technical issues.

We are looking for strong Global Billing Application Owner to manage the portfolio of billing applications, which includes: CSA, Datahub, ORMB, OAS, Billing Express, and other legacy billing applications until they are decommissioned.

Role Summary & Role Description

As Global Billng Application Owner, you will be responsible for:

Incident and Problem Management

  • Oversee incident management processes to quickly resolve issues affecting the application. This need to be tracked via Service now.
  • Coordinate with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Maintain a log of issues and work on root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.

Change Management
  • Manage and approve changes to the application, including updates, enhancements, and patches.
  • Ensure proper change control processes are followed to minimize disruption. Conduct testing and validation to ensure changes meet quality standards.

Vendor Management /TPRM
  • Involve with vendor to support for the application.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the application, including technical specifications, user guides, and operational procedures.
  • Generate reports on the application's performance, usage, and issues for stakeholders.
  • Keep an updated inventory of the application's components, configurations, and dependencies

Capacity Management/Planning
  • Application Capacity planning is primary responsibility of app owner to decide Archiving, Data retention plan as agreed with Business.

Risk Management
  • Identify potential risks related to the application, including security, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address these risks. Monitor and manage risks throughout the application's lifecycle.

Security and Compliance / Scan / Patching
  • Ensure that the application complies with relevant security standards, data protection regulations, and compliance requirements. Implement security measures and conduct regular security reviews and audits.
  • Address vulnerabilities and apply patches as necessary.

IAM Controls/SailPoint/MFA setup
  • Ensure Identity and Access management setup follow the standard (SailPoint/ESF/MFA) need to be setup and follow the standard.
  • All accounts (Privileged accounts) follow the GCS standard means Non-Human Account setup in CAPAM/CyberArk and password rotation done annually

Disaster Recovery Test / Business Continuity plan
  • Ensure that Application Business continuity plan (DR Test ) done annually and any failure need to be addressed with Recovery Management Team

BAU Activities
  • BAU enhancement/Requirement need to be managed by Application team/App owners.
  • Business raised tickets to support team for Enhancement in the application and app owner need to review/Analysis to decide whether it should go to development team or Support Team.

L1/L2/L3 Team Engagement
  • Ensure proper ARO engagement and involve in Production Support via Service now ticket Process.

Application Environment Management
  • Owns application environment (Prod/BUAT/UAT/DR) and responsible for Monitor the performance and usage of the application.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues, ensuring the application operates efficiently. Regularly review application metrics and reports to make informed decisions.

Application Performance and Stability
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of the application, from onboarding to retirement.
  • Communicate changes, updates, and the status of the application to all relevant parties.

Technical Skills

Problem-Solving: The ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues, including identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Security Awareness: Understanding security best practices, vulnerabilities, and compliance requirements is essential for maintaining a secure application.

Basic Programming Knowledge: While not necessarily a coder, a basic understanding of programming concepts and development methodologies can be helpful.

Quality Assessment and Improvement: Identifying areas for improvement and developing a long-term quality improvement program.

Soft Skills

Communication: Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, is vital for conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Collaboration: The ability to work effectively with diverse teams, including developers, testers, business analysts, and stakeholders.

The ability to guide and motivate teams, set priorities, and make decisions that align with business goals.

Stakeholder Management: Understanding the needs and expectations of various stakeholders and managing their expectations effectively.

Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Driving Change: Being able to drive change and improvements within the application and the organization.

Application Knowledge: A deep understanding of the applications architecture, functionality, and underlying technologies is crucial (CSA, Datahub, ORMB, OAS, Billing Express, and other legacy billing applications)

Salary Range:
$100,000 - $167,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
