The Honeywell Engineering Test Services group is a multi-disciplinary team of Software, Electrical and Test Engineers at the forefront of designing, developing and deploying Engine Control Systems, Automation, high-speed Digital Data Acquisition Systems (DDAS) and specialized Electrical Test Systems critical to testing, evaluating performance and operation of aircraft engine systems and components.As a Software Engr II here at Honeywell, you will support the design, development, and implementation of software applications for engine test automation and digital data acquisition systems (DDAS), collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely project completion. Impact innovative solutions driving efficiency and productivity.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 2+ years of experience in software development
  • Software Coding Experience in 2 or more languages, like Python, Java, C++
  • Familiarity with basic Linux/Unix command line tools
  • Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements

  • Experience with Dewesoft Hardware and Software a plus

Responsibilities include writing software to support the acquisition of Engine data for both Development and Production testing, maintain a variety of software tools as hardware and software upgrades occur, and support engine testing software on call to be responsive when systems fail in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software solutions and tools that support engine test automation and data acquisition (DDAS)
  • Develop new and support existing software solutions
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot software/hardware issues
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code in languages such as C++, Python, or Java following internal standards and best practices
  • Assist in the integration of instrumentation and hardware interfaces into software systems
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation of software releases to ensure system reliability
  • Work closely with test engineers and internal customers to gather requirements and deliver functional software solutions
  • Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues in lab environments, often involving interaction between software and hardware systems
