Shipping Supervisor (Administrative)



Job Summary

Lead a team to fulfill the daily responsibilities of receiving inbound freight and shipping outbound orders in an evolving and quickly growing team. Oversee the picking of customer orders and the put away of received freight in a timely manner. Through the leading of personnel, accomplish work results, priorities, and monitor/ report on progress. Report on those activities to management in the support of company initiatives, standards, policies, And overall continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions

· Support the creation and sustainment of processes and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and supporting continuous improvement.
· Ensure all employees work to achieve a high level of productivity while maintaining product quality.
· Support the efforts of other departments through prompt responsiveness to requests and inquiries.
· Lead Personnel to accomplish work results, establish priorities, and monitor progress.
· Verify the accuracy of printed orders to be picked and processed for imports and exports.
· Process transfer orders going to sister plants and verifying quantities of materials.
· Report, as needed for management, the results of shipping/receiving activities.
· Support company initiatives by enforcing organization standards and policies.
· Performs other related duties and projects assigned.
· Coordinates with our Quality Inspector when needed.
· Input all daily paperwork into the reporting system.
· Be forklift certified or able to receive certification.
· Ensure daily on time delivery daily.
· Oversee material management to production areas (ie components, finished goods)
· Oversee the cycle counting process and inventory audits
· Supervision of warehouse
· Supervision of warehouse personnel, team capacity approx. 10


Physical Requirements
· Workers are required to lift packages up to 50 lbs.
· Work requires repetitive bending and stooping.
· Employees are required to climb short ladders or step stools.
· Employees are required to use hand tools.
· Employees will use heavy machinery (E.g., forklift, etc.).
Knowledge
· Bachelors' Degree in supervision or 2 to 3 years equivalent work experience.
Experience

2-3 years of experience in leading teams to accomplish daily shipping/receiving goals.
2-3 years of experience in maintaining quality in ship/rec environment.
2-3 years of experience with a reporting system.
2-3 years of experience working with other departments to achieve goals.
1-2 years of inventory control management, reporting, and leading inventory audits.
Trained to operate a forklift or ability to be trained to operate a forklift.


Skills

Able to provide team leadership, lead problem solving initiatives, and establish/complete team goals.
Knowledge of workflow and shipping/receiving methodologies.
Able to organize daily work and track accountability.
Able to manage a multifaceted and fast paced environment.
Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excell, Outlook, etc.).
Knowledgeable and Able to use an ERP system, preferably Epicor.
Good work ethic.
