Role description:

Arcadis is currently searching for a Water/Wastewater Engineer with 5 or more years of experience to join our Water Business Line team in Minneapolis, MN.

Our team helps clients achieve business objectives by creating and implementing innovative and effective solutions for water and wastewater infrastructure assets and this is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated engineer to join our team locally with support from one of the best-qualified municipal consulting firms in the country.

The Water/Wastewater Engineer will utilize their expertise and technical knowledge of Water / Wastewater evaluations, design & construction to serve as a Project Manager and/or project engineer on local projects, regional projects and the potential for national projects. This is a 'hands-on' role with an expectation of leading projects, managing and/or mentoring staff, and supporting marketing and business development activities with senior staff.

Role accountabilities:

Position serves as a Project Manager and/or team leader, applying technical expertise to municipal water and wastewater projects to ensure successful execution and delivery of projects while enhancing the team's capabilities. This role will lead projects through planning, design, and construction phases of water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, stormwater systems and distribution and collection systems. Additional duties include:

  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Actively participate in industry conferences and associations at local, state, and national levels through committee memberships, presentations and leadership roles
  • Support marketing and business development in the regional water and wastewater market.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to manage clients and proposals with other disciplines to execute projects effectively.
  • Develop planning and design projects from inception to completion, ranging in size from small to large.
  • Prepare complete construction packages, including all engineering, procurement, and construction deliverables.
  • Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses using design software.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical design/drafting staff.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • 5 or more years of experience.

Key Attributes:

Will possess strong, clear and concise written and oral communication skills. As well as comprehensive knowledge of drinking water treatment design, including tools, techniques and methodologies used to achieve successful outcomes. Client relationship skills: including preparation and development of proposals and client management experience with a successful record of accomplishment, delivering a variety of projects that meet or exceed client expectations. Experience with planning, design and construction projects including water, wastewater and/or stormwater project and also working with new and/or existing treatment plants, pump stations and/or conveyance systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in civil or environmental engineering or an MBA.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $73,301 - $120,947. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
