Quality Control Lab Technician I (R&D)



We are currently looking to add a Quality Control Laboratory Technician to our team in St. Cloud, MN. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Quality Control (QC) department with daily, weekly, and monthly tasks while also assisting other departments.

What can I expect in this role?
In this position, you will work 7 am 4:30 pm Monday thru Thursday, and 7:00 am 11:00 am on Friday.

Some key duties in this role include:
Performs Quality Control inspection of purchased and prepared materials. This includes but is not limited to raw materials, media, components, and diluents. Ensures identification and traceability of material.
Tests accurately and documents results in a timely manner according to Company policies and procedures.
Responsible for chain of custody and distribution of samples to various QC processes.
Maintains inventory levels and orders supplies for product testing throughout the department.
Under the direction of their Supervisor, maintenance tasks are conducted to keep the laboratory equipment within compliance of standards.
o Maintaining QC microorganisms for laboratory testing
o Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment or instrumentation, i.e. staining station, pH meter, balance, Gene Xpert.
o Verification of pipettes
o Recording temperatures as required
o Environmental Monitoring and Laboratory Water Testing
Performs maintenance per General Maintenance Schedule when applicable.
Responsible for labware
o Preparation of labware to be autoclaved.
o Sterility testing
o Residue checking of washed labware.
o Wash labware when necessary.
Prepares reagents in compliance with the appropriate procedure.

Education and/or experience required:
Two-year microbiology or related degree or equivalent work experience required.The ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
