Value Stream Manager (Finance)



Job Description:

Job Title: Value Stream Manager

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Overview:
As a Value Stream Manager, you will lead cross-functional production teams across multiple shifts to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing of products in a food-safe environment. You will be accountable to achieve output targets while managing costs and fostering associate engagement and development. This leadership role plays a critical part in delivering against strategic objectives, factory operating systems, and continuous improvement initiatives. In the absence of the Site Director, the Value Stream Manager may serve as the acting authority for all area operations and assets. A commitment to our 5 Principles and a People First culture is essential.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute strategies to ensure the Value Stream aligns with overall site goals.
  • Oversee labor resources with budgets ranging from $10-15M, including the management of temporary staff if needed.
  • Manage total Value Stream costs within a $20-25M annual budget, ensuring efficiency and accountability.
  • Drive production efficiency using Lean, TPM, MSE, and FMOS methodologies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of brand innovations and production schedules across diverse pack mixes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high standards in food safety and quality through standardized work practices.
  • Act as a brand steward for products representing over $300M in annual Net Sales Value.
  • Coach and develop talent through assignments, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
  • Oversee asset health and reliability in alignment with site maintenance and engineering goals.

What We're Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree OR high school diploma with 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience in manufacturing operations with increasing responsibility.
  • Strong technical understanding of manufacturing processes, systems, equipment, and consumer goods.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and align teams with strategic goals.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree.
  • 5+ years managing large teams (25+ associates), both direct and indirect.
  • Extensive experience applying Lean, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong background in associate relations, development, and team building.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining budget discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Working knowledge of engineering, maintenance, process control, and technical product delivery.
