Human Resources Partner - Manufacturing (Finance)



CooperVision (CVI) is recruiting a Human Resources Partner - Manufacturing. This position plays a key role in our Juana Diaz, PR campus, and typically works a split shift from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The HR Partner (Mfg) is accountable for planning & oversight of a wide array of HR responsibilities within assigned business unit (BU) and client group. Provides on-site customer service, consulting, and HR services promoting positive engagement, morale, and reliable services to employees and leaders.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

HR Partners have business knowledge, create strategic connections, and works to achieve organizational objectives. Works collaboratively with leadership to ensure HR initiatives align with the business needs, and champions organizational change.

Accountable for:

  • Ensure compliance federal and local labor laws and regulations. Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage employee relations and interventions in assigned client group. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations in a timely manner.
  • Coaching and consulting leadership on HR matters. Human Resources consulting and advisory including a variety of employee lifecycle events.
  • End to end planning and resourcing / supporting recruitment and talent acquisition per the BU requirements and cost / budget considerations.
  • Proactive, clear and timely flow of communication.
  • Champions company culture and employee experience and engagement ensuring business culture of Connection and Belonging.
  • Skills assessment and development.
  • Proactive Human Resources intervention in policies, guidance and interpretations.
  • HR Performance reporting, analysis and value-added data and business case development for ongoing work environment improvement. KPI and data gathering, interpretation, collection, and creation.

Actively Participates in:

  • Headcount reconciliations, time off, accruals, BCP, events, activities, accident and investigations.
  • Ensure BU resources have the skills and knowledge to adapt to process and changing business needs.
  • Embraces, supports, and aligns with corporate social responsibility, compliance, EHS, sustainability and overall policies, guidelines and regulations to ensure a safe and sustainable workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
  • Knowledge of local and federal labor legislations.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong drive towards results.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish (fully bilingual).
  • Superior presentation skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound judgement, decision making and risk taking. Innovation, creativity and solutions oriented.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Technology savvy and computer proficiency required (robust MS Office and HRIS applications).

  • Applies communication skills (advance reading, writing, and technical skills) and mathematical concepts knowledge to perform work and coordinate with others.

Experience:
  • Three (3) years of experience in a HR Generalist capacity required. Manufacturing and/or regulated industry knowledge and experience highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience with employment matters, performance management programs, training and development, labor laws, employee relations, conflict resolution and HRIS required.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related majors strongly preferred.
