Tool and Die Setter (Finance)



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set up and adjust dies and presses accurately and securely.
  • Prepare dies and jig tools needed for the next production run in accordance with production schedules and coordinated die changes.
  • Inspect and maintain dies and fixtures by performing standardized inspections, completing inspection check sheets, and checking the accuracy and condition of all dies and fixtures.
  • Perform minor repairs and sharpening of punches and buttons.
  • Maintain records of die maintenance details according to inspection standards.
  • Instruct and train machine operators in the proper and safety methods to operate presses, controls, tools, and equipment.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and other lifting equipment during die changes, material changes, and maintenance repairs.
  • Inspect parts for conformance to specification and adjust machines to correct errors.
  • Inspect and monitor the quality of parts, assembled components, and finished products for all areas of fabrication process.
  • Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience.

Physical Requirements:Able to list 50 lbs., stand and walk for prolonged periods of time on the manufacturing floor.

Work Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to manufacturing equipment and machinery, forklifts, and pallets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is regularly exposed to hot and cold weather conditions. Personal protective equipment is required in all areas of the production plant.
