Ethics and Compliance Specialist II (Finance)



Job Summary:

The Ethics & Compliance Specialist II plays a crucial role in implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the company's ethics and compliance program, with a significant focus on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), Sustainability, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. This role involves managing specific compliance processes, contributing to policy development, conducting training, supporting investigations, and ensuring adherence to relevant laws and internal standards. The Specialist will operate with a degree of autonomy on assigned projects and tasks.

Responsibilities and Tasks in order of priority to be successful

  • Program Implementation & Administration
    • Implement and support key components of the ethics, compliance, sustainability, and ESG programs.
    • Draft and update ethics, compliance, sustainability, and ESG-related policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate and deliver ethics, compliance, and foundational ESG training; track effectiveness.
    • Support the administration of the ethics helpline, including initial assessment and routing of concerns.
    • Participate in and support internal investigations under supervision.
  • FCPA & Anti-Corruption Support:
    • Administer key aspects of the FCPA compliance program.
    • Conduct and document third-party FCPA due diligence; identify and escalate red flags.
    • Monitor compliance with FCPA policies, including gifts, hospitality, and travel.
    • Prepare reports on FCPA compliance activities.
  • Sustainability/ ESG Integration & Reporting:
    • Contribute to the integration of ESG principles into compliance frameworks and business processes.
    • Collect, analyze, and report on ESG data and metrics relevant to compliance.
    • Support the development of content for ESG disclosures and reports.
    • Assist in ESG-related risk assessments and monitoring.
  • Risk & Monitoring:
    • Assist in conducting compliance risk assessments and developing mitigation plans.
    • Monitor regulatory changes and recommend policy/procedure updates.

Education, Experience & License or Certification

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required (e.g., Business Administration, Law, Ethics, International Relations, Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a compliance, legal, audit, ethics, or ESG-related role. Direct experience with FCPA or anti-corruption compliance is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities

  • Good understanding of FCPA, anti-corruption laws, and key ESG frameworks/principles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
