Logistics Coordinator (Finance)



About this role: The Logistics Coordinator manages the efficient and timely movement of goods, materials, and products across the supply chain. This role coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, ensures compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and acts as the link between suppliers, carriers, internal teams, and customers to keep operations running smoothly and cost-effectively.

Statement of Work:

·        Coordinate and manage domestic and international shipments, including booking transportation, preparing documentation, and ensuring timely delivery.

·        Monitor shipment progress and proactively address delays, disruptions, or exceptions.

·        Maintain accurate logistics records in ERP and tracking systems; support inventory movement and cycle counts.

·        Prepare and review freight documentation such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.

·        Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, freight forwarders, and internal departments (sales, production, and customer service) to resolve delivery or quality issues.

·        Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs requirements.

·        Track freight costs, analyze logistics data, and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.

·        Prepare regular reports on delivery performance, transit times, and logistics KPIs.

·        Support continuous improvement initiatives in logistics processes and systems.

·        Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status and delivery schedules.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred); Associate's degree or equivalent experience considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping procedures, Incoterms, and customs regulations.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems, logistics software, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to travel to supplier sites as needed.

Work Environment:

Commitment of 40 hours per work.  The job operates in a professional office & manufacturing environment.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Salary ranges for this position are determined based upon the job location and can be adjusted based upon experience, reflecting our commitment to valuing the expertise and contributions of our individual team members. Salary for this role is $20 - $25 hour based upon experience.
