Position Summary:

Federal Equipment Company has been a leading supplier for marine deck machinery and specialized weapons and material handling systems. Through the years, the company has emerged into an internationally recognized organization with extensive expertise in marine design/engineering and the manufacturing of critical shipboard systems. The company, now part of Fairbanks Morse Defense, is rapidly growing and in need of a Sr. Mechanical Engineer.

This position performs complex analytical work and coordinates with other engineering professionals, FEC associates, customers, and vendors.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan, design, analyze, and test to ensure performance, reliability, and conformance to all applicable requirements, specifications, cost, and schedules.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate tasks for engineering projects as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team.
  • Create and develop engineering project documentation as required.
  • Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept to final deployment onto the manufacturing floor.
  • Investigate the latest engineering technology to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
  • Mentor and lead other engineering professionals to provide role model professional engineering behavior.
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined.
  • Perform related duties or responsibilities, as assigned, or requested.

Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, solid modeling, and FEA are required.
  • Familiarity with MIL specifications, Autodesk Inventor, mechanical shock analysis, testing, and project management experience preferred.
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Results-oriented with a willingness to take responsibility and initiative.
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced, growth environment.
  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Important Information:

This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
