OSS is seeking a Test Engineer to assist in the development, coordination, and staffing of Test & Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP) which may include Design of Experiments (DoE) & Developmental Evaluation Framework (DEF) strategies in support of Launched Effects. The candidate will support the Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) Product Office (PO). This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:
  • Plan, document, coordinate, manage, execute, and report Test and Evaluation (T&E) functions for a weapon system.
  • Develop, coordinate, monitor, or evaluate requirements within a Statement of work for a weapon system.
  • Develop, coordinate, monitor, or evaluate requirements within a Specification in a weapon system acquisition process.
  • Ensure a weapon system is within compliance of its lower level requirements (i.e., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461/464).
  • Developing T&E unique requirements (i.e., Critical Operational Issues and Criteria; Measures of Effectiveness; or Measures of Performance) for a weapon system modification or new design.
  • Perform requirements traceability from a Capability Production Document/Capability Development Document to a system specification or a system specification to a test plan.
  • Execute and/or coordinate system performance level testing (example: aviation flight, system of systems, command and control, network, software, etc.) in support of a program office test program.
  • Execute developmental testing (DT) of systems, subsystems, components, or associated systems qualification in support of a weapon system to determine conformance with test requirements (i.e. Transportability, Mobility, E3, Climatic, NBC Analysis, High-Altitude Electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP), Cold Environments, Tropic Environments, etc.).
  • Developing, coordinating, or maintaining test plans, test procedures and/or test reports for an acquisition weapons program component, subsystem, system or System of Systems.
  • Develop and/or update a Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) in support of a weapon system program.
  • Support operational testing such as: Limited User Test (LUT), Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOT&E), or Follow-on Operational Test and Evaluation (FOT&E).
  • Support a T&E Working Integrated Product Team (WIPT) in the development of a test program for a weapon system.
  • Development of T&E strategies and crosswalks of Capability Development Document (CDD) / Capability Product Document (CPD) requirements through the T&E process, evaluate testability of requirements & develop methodologies for the testing of these requirements.
  • Test Management & Support of test planning, coordination, execution, safety releases, airworthiness, frequency allocations, development of detailed test plans, data collection plans, data management plans, data analysis plans, test reports, quick-look briefings, test readiness reviews, and resource allocation management for but not limited to the following: system and system of systems (SoS) performance, climactic, transportability/mobility, E3, NBC analysis, dynamics, safety, reliability, air drop, lethality, airworthiness, command & control (C2) environments, missile open air & live fire, aviation flight/ground, integrated & standalone sensors testing.

Qualifications:
  • ABET accredited Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of U.S. Army aviation-related technical experience is required. UAS experience is highly desired.
  • Program Management Office experience desired.
  • Professional experience using Microsoft Office applications to include Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Word is required.
  • Candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a self-starter that thrives in a dynamic team environment.
  • Candidate must possess a proven ability to develop and provide reports to management.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain such is required.
