Software Engineer II (Finance)



Software Engineer II

You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Mason, OH or Atlanta, GA location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our engineering processes, ensuring that our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and test software applications in accordance with project requirements.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software specifications and requirements.

• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and team members.

• Be part of a TEAM that solves complex technical problems for customers, while applying the highest standards of customer support

• Provide escalation technical support for software and controls related production impacting events

• Identify, investigate, troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues

• Create detailed 5-whys root cause analysis documents, as applicable

• Debug software defects, analyze source code for proprietary material-handling control systems

• Build business acumen, addressing customer's technical needs

• This role typically requires

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development or related roles.

• Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, C++, or Python.

• Proficiency in software development tools and methodologies, including version control systems and Agile practices.

• Experience with software testing frameworks and debugging tools.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

• At least 2 years of experience programming C/C++ and/or troubleshooting controls system software

• At least 1 year of experience programming PLC and/or troubleshooting PLC ladder logic

• At least one year of experience with SQL, creating queries, & data analysis and/or troubleshooting database issues.

• At least 1 year of customer support and/or customer-facing experience

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience in developing software for embedded systems or real-time applications.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

• Thorough understanding of various software development lifecycles

• Clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences

• Ambitious and able to work with minimal supervision

• Electrical/Electronic troubleshooting background is a plus

• Mentor/Train/Develop junior engineers
