Quality Assurance Manager (Information Technology)
INTRODUCTION:
This job description describes the authority, duties, responsibilities, reporting relationships and measure of accomplishment for the functional position of the QA Manager of All-Plastics.
BASIC FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for planning, managing and directing all aspects of the All-Plastics Quality Assurance Department.
This position reports to the COO and is responsible for coordinating quality assurance through training and interfacing with employees and customers. This position will provide a quality system which will insure that the products designed, manufactured, and sold by All-Plastics meet all customer specifications and monitor the Quality system to ensure continued compliance.
AUTHORITY:
The QA Manager receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the COO for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities at each plant. Must make all decisions and assume full responsibility for the effective supervision of the QA Department.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The QA Manager reports directly to the COO Directly supervises less than 14 employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The principal duties and responsibilities of the QA Manager consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
MEASUREMENT OF PERFORMANCE:
The QA Manager shall be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when the following have been met and/or exceeded:
Departmental narratives completed with 7 days of month end (which includes the QA % number orders shipped/orders shipped without a problem) external DPPM, number of first articles, number of line audits. A sample will be provided.
Goals Outlined on Matrix:
Overall satisfaction of immediate supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
Preferred: BS or BA degree preferred in an engineering, science or industrial management discipline and CQA Certified. Also prefer a minimum of 5 years management experience with demonstrated TQM, communication, interpersonal, leadership skills.
Required: High School Diploma with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in quality or product assurance
SKILLS: Strong (effective) written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and analytical skills. Must know how to use instruments such as calipers, micrometers, optical comparator, gages and other devices required to accomplish job requirements.
Other required skills include:
PHYSICAL:
Includes lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and use of hands and arms.
Job may require heavy lifting (Up to 50 lbs.).
Peripheral vision and depth perception required.
MENTAL: Must be able to read, write and speak English. This position requires a strong math and mechanical aptitude.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Required to work throughout the plant in both air conditioned and non-air-conditioned situations. May work around and on machinery, using various kinds of machine and hand tools. Work environment may be hazardous, noisy, and dusty.
