Job Description
Primary Function of Position:

As a part of the global Employment Legal team, the Sr. Investigations and Employment Advisory Specialist will be a pivotal member contributing to the company's commitment to legal and regulatory compliance in handling investigations of workplace complaints and managing escalated or complex labor compliance and workplace matters across the US and globally (as assigned). This role will serve as a critical advisor for workplace matters and monitor processes ensuring the company's corporate standards and practices are followed adhering to applicable policies and procedures. This position is responsible for developing, interpreting, and recommending employment compliance training program goals and objectives, as well as procedures and courses of action consistent with corporate standards to keep a compliant and positive work environment in connection with the primary functions and roles and responsibilities herein and as advised.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Lead all facets of employment legal compliance workplace investigations across the US and globally as assigned, including promotion of the company's speak up culture.
  • Directly investigate (or consult or partner as directed or appropriate) employment legal compliance complaints related to statutory violations or violations of the company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, including those received employee direct or through compliance hotline.
  • Help build and maintain consistent investigations framework, including participating in drafting and implementing related policies, procedures, and guidelines, consistent with applicable regional statutory laws.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact to advise on complex employment lifecycle escalations including, but not limited to matters of compliance complaints, workplace investigations and corrective action processes.
  • Partner and serve as a trusted advisor with business leaders, HR, and functional corporate organizations.
  • Respond and directly investigate (or consult or partner as appropriate) to address escalated complaints or concerns related to employment legal compliance such as unfair business practices, hostile work environment or harassment claims, discrimination,

etc. using Intuitive methodology and processes.
  • Prepare summary investigative reports, recommend appropriate remedial action when appropriate. Present results and action plans to corporate legal leadership and others as designated.
  • Support employment legal efforts to align global risk and employment policies.
  • Collaborate with people leaders and HR to assess compliance risks and implement corrective and disciplinary actions on complex matters including surrounding, performance counseling, policy violations and performance improvement processes to employees with behaviors or performance issues and recommend appropriate documentation.
  • Support identification for interventions to resolve conflicts between employees due to disagreements, conflicts, or misunderstandings.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to people leaders in partnership with HR, and others as necessary, to support management processes for disciplinary and corrective actions and policy interpretation, conflict resolution, performance management programs,
  • Maintain a knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and labor legislation that affects employees across the US
  • Assist members of the Corporate Ethics team in connection with questions, review, and advice relating to ethics matters related to employment legal compliance.
  • Partner and support cross-functional employment compliance engagement with internal and external stakeholders. This includes employment life-cycle events, formal and informal training related to employment compliance and escalated employee workplace matters involving employment laws (based on provided and approved content from legal leadership), performance counseling and discipline.
  • Assist with periodic employment compliance risk assessments, proactively identify and analyze data to identify employment statutory complaint trends, and corrective action patterns.
  • Ensure alignment between people management strategies and practices and existing Intuitive values, policies and employment legal compliance requirements, updating each as required. Partner with HR, under the direction of corporate legal leadership, to provide recommendations for risk mitigating resolutions of identified gaps.
  • Foster and promote company's culture and values at all levels.
  • Partner effectively with other cross-functional teams in a manner consistent with Intuitive's values and policies.
  • Collaborate with people leaders to analyze and identify work environment risks to improve employee experience.
Qualifications
Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, labor law, organizational development, psychology, human resources or related field required.
  • Master's degree in business administration, labor Law, organizational development, human resources, or related field is a plus.
  • Advanced workplace employment investigations certifications or trainings is a plus.
  • 12+ years' experience focusing on handling workplace escalations of employment compliance, complaints, investigations of all levels of complexity.
  • Expertise in fundamental workplace investigation best practices and conducting investigations across US.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations globally is a plus.
  • Experience working in a multistate and multinational organization is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively across geographical and cultural boundaries is required.
  • Experience in a medical field focused company is a plus.
  • Strong initiative and solid judgment abilities/skills; must display a balanced, objective approach and sound judgment when recommending a course of action or handling an investigation. Ability to articulate issues, findings, and conclusions in a manner that facilitates development and application of solutions.
  • Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results, including senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers to use company best practices for maximum effectiveness.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to listen and provide an independent point of view on people and issues while having the courage and sensitivity to deliver tough messages to leaders and employees professionally and compassionately. Effective influence and communication skills when recommending and implementing solutions with business partners.
  • Must work effectively independently and collaboratively; prioritize and complete tasks while working under a deadline in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a disciplined approach to case management and administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point). Strong ability to learn and utilize additional job relevant technologies and electronic tools.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $123,800 USD - $178,200 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $105,300 USD - $151,500 USD
Shift: Day
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader. Apply
