The General Manager of Sales & Rental Operations leads the execution, performance management, and process optimization of the sales, rental, and used equipment operations. This includes responsibility for sales support functions, rental logistics, systems management, used equipment strategy, pricing, and profitability, with a strong focus on leveraging data and systems to improve efficiency, accountability, and profitability. The GM fosters cross-functional collaboration, implements consistent practices across locations, and supports the company's vision of “One Professional Team.”

Pay Rate:  $124,391.23 - $171,033.86 Annually
Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience. 

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee management and operations of sales and rental support including quoting, invoicing, order flow, inventory coordination, shop coordination, and fleet logistics.
  • Determine pricing and marketing strategies for accurate used equipment listings.
  • Lead monthly reviews of used inventory performance vs. budget and adjust pricing or rollout schedules as needed.
  • Maintain consistent execution of policies, programs, and processes across all regions and departments.
  • Partner with Sales Managers, Rental Managers, and Used Equipment Managers to solve bottlenecks, forecast needs, and support field execution.
  • Ensure data accuracy across key systems (DBS, CRM/SalesLink, Wynne) and lead efforts to improve data quality and reporting functionality.
  • Develop and manage performance dashboards, metrics, and operational KPIs for visibility and decision support.
  • Collaborate with IT and Business Intelligence to streamline workflows and automate reporting processes.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional projects related to systems upgrades, rental programs, or process re-engineering.
  • Facilitate cross-branch alignment of tools, processes, and system usage.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align operational practices with strategic priorities.
  • Serve as the key liaison between Sales, Rental, Shop, Accounting, and Corporate Admin functions.
  • Promote a culture of proactive safety awareness and adherence to all company and regulatory safety protocols.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and accountability to a geographically distributed team.
  • Support recruitment, training, performance reviews, with a focus on empowerment, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Prepare and manage the budget for used equipment, sales, and rental operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct reports may include: Used Equipment, Sales, and Rental Operations Managers, Analysts, Coordinators, and other operational support staff across multiple locations.
  • Hires, trains, and directs a staff, sufficient to safely and efficiently perform their duties
  • Provides on-going performance feedback, and conducts timely annual performance reviews, making recommendations for status or salary adjustments

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field required.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in sales or rental operations, preferably in the heavy equipment or industrial services sectors.
  • Experience in managing used equipment lifecycle and sales forecasting.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading operational teams, managing change, and working across departments.
  • Experience managing operational support across multiple locations or business units.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar analytics tools.
  • Experienced in CRM and rental systems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and operational data reporting.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

  • Master's degree or advanced training in analytics, systems, or operational leadership preferred.
  • Experience with SalesLink, DBS, and iRental preferred.
