The Role
The Warehouse Lead Clerk will safely sort, document, and manage all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.??The Warehouse Lead Clerk is responsible for assisting all warehouse clerks with general tasks including but not limited to the following: research and problem solving of issues related to the movement of inventory in the warehouse. The Warehouse Lead Clerk will guide all warehouse floor activities in the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor.
What You'll Do
Collecting merchandise from the warehouse and placing it in the appropriate area
Receiving and documenting merchandise for delivery or return.
Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse.
Identifying any missing, lost, or damaged materials and assisting other warehouse clerks with problem solving / resolution.
Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
Managing all merchandise with appropriate care.
Leads training efforts of newly employed warehouse clerks.
Ensure products are shipped to the right destination, perform routine quality checks of equipment and materials for accuracy.
Performs and leads special projects as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.
Assists with the proper movement of inventory within the warehouse, consignment space, and warehouse lot where inventory is stored.
Assists in effort to maintain proper 6S standards within the warehouse including making recommendations for process improvement.
What You'll Need
Ability to work Mon-Fri from 4am-12pm with overtime flexibility during peak seasons
2+ years of experience in a similar role
Positive work attitude
Prior experience working in a warehouse / DC operation
Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, or HVAC parts helpful
Knowledge of operating a forklift
Knowledge of operating a parts cherry picker
Strong attention to detail with a keen sense of urgency
Ability to work on feet for 8 hours and carry loads up to 50 pounds
Ability to work independently and safely at heights of up to 20 feet
Ability to lead and motivate a team of warehouse clerks and to create a positive environment.
High school diploma or a GED
