Loom Cleaner (Manufacturing)



Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Cleans assigned looms each shift.
  2. Blows lint and dust off all looms daily.
  3. Cleans oil off floor, underneath looms, and oil pans.
  4. Sweeps weave room floor; Mops floor around looms.
  5. Assists Cloth Doffer in doffing rolls of fabric; Loom Cleaner may also fill in for Cloth Doffer.
  6. Perform other duties assigned by management.
  7. Follows all safety rules to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The candidate is frequently exposed to noise, dust and various chemicals, and moving parts requiring the use of appropriate personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection and steel toe shoes.

 Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the candidate is regularly required to talk, walk, stand (for extended periods of time), and hear. The candidate will be required to reach out and overhead with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull with entire body weights up to 100 lbs. for distances up to 75 ft.  The candidate must be able to distinguish the difference in the color of cones.  The candidate must have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20 vision.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will be determined by shift.  Weekend and overtime may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position requires little to no travel.

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency Certificate preferred.
  2. Must be able to operate a pole truck (PIT), electric rider pallet truck, warp pan truck, and doff truck. Certification to operate these units will be required.
