Client Data Specialist (Finance)

Northern Trust's public cloud-based Data Warehouse Solutions (DWS) aggregates NT data and external 3rd party data into a data warehouse to produce single source of truth and fit for purpose data for client consumption. DWS is a holistic and comprehensive service offering; including technology, infrastructure, strategic data, processes and support to aggregate, manage and deliver data.

Work Model: Hybrid

Major Duties :

  • Communicate and present Data Warehouse Solutions offering from a technical perspective to clients, prospects and consultants
  • Train and demonstrate usability of DWS and data delivery tools to clients
  • Act as subject matter expert or escalation point for technical and data questions throughout sales, onboard and business as usual
  • Work directly with client operational teams at all levels throughout both onboarding and the migration into business as usual
  • Support development, testing and release cycles
  • Attend scrum meetings, create and manage user stories and priority within individual sprints as necessary
  • Works with client executive, relationship manager and client to gain understanding of client needs and implements accordingly
  • Solves complex problems
  • Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with leading data technologies: Snowflake, FiveTran, DBT, Databricks, Alteryx, Tableau or Power BI
  • Query and coding experience in Python, SQL, R is a plus
  • A strong communicator who is adept at explaining complex topics to non-technical audiences and can develop and deepen strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Experience in partnering closely with executive leadership and external customers
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to thrive with minimal oversight and process
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills are required
  • Applies best practices and how own area integrates with others
  • A demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new analytical tools and apply them in innovative ways
  • Experience with data pipelines using cloud-based tools

Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Analytics, Statistics, Accounting, Data Management or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 plus years of data analysis/management, financial accounting or investment data experience
  • Experience with data pipelines using cloud-based tools
  • Experience in a SAAS or DAAS business

Salary Range:
$95,600 - 162,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
