Concrete Finisher (Maintenance)



Performs all aspects of concrete installation, including base and grade preparation, setting forms, mixing, pouring, and finishing by hand or machine troweling.

Duties: 

  • Reads blueprints for job requirements and prepares surfaces for the pouring of concrete, including grade preparation and construction of forms.
  • Mixes, pours, and finishes concrete installation, such as floors, ramps, curbs, gutters, pads, benches, slabs, sidewalks, and bumper blocks.
  • Performs general duties such as asphalt installation, roof installation and maintenance, and heavy equipment operation and maintenance as needed.
  • Uses established safety practices to protect health and safety of personnel and property.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

Required Education: High School diploma or GED, AND;

  • 24 months experience in concrete finishing.

Skills:

  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Use tools or equipment with expertise
  • Ability to read and interpret written or printed materials including simple blueprints
  • Perform simple recordkeeping requiring logging or filing
  • Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Certifications:

  • Valid Driver's License 

Department Preferences:

  •   Valid Class B Commercial Oklahoma Driver's License

Working Conditions: 

  • Physical: Climbing ladders. Frequent and repeated bending, stooping, and kneeling. Frequent lifting and carrying loads in excess of 50 lbs. Repetitive wrist and arm movement.

  • Environmental: Performs work requiring the use of ladders and scaffolding. Regular exposure to odors and noise. Regular exposure to dust and other airborne particles. Regular exposure to safety hazards. May be designated as an essential position during emergency closures. May be required to remain on campus overnight during weather or other emergencies.
