OPERATIONS SHIFT SUPERVISER (Manufacturing)

  • This role will be based in Muscatine, Iowa. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads assigned shift personnel. 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for inspiring, managing, and supporting teams to work creatively and confidently toward a shared vision and aligning the vision with Kent's core values.
  • Leads the daily process and operations while maintaining safety, quality, production and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure daily product quality standards are met both in-process and finished product in partnership with Quality
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee shift maintenance including writing work orders and executing permits (hot work, line break, entry, etc.)
  • Learns and maintains qualifications for all positions and operating equipment. Able to perform routine maintenance and repair work as needed.
  • Develop, update and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and Lockout/Tagout for all equipment in the Department.
  • Responsible for training personnel to safely operate plant equipment. Evaluates personnel on equipment and plant operations.
  • Conduct and document training programs on safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), Hazard Analysis and Risk Based Preventative Controls (HARPC), sanitation procedures, and job related training
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and content.
  • Communicate changes in general administrative work, consisting of documenting personnel changes, approving electronic time cards, and reviewing and approving overtime report.
  • Collaborates on special assignments as requested by the Plant Manager and Superintendent
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively in a team orientated environment
  • Previous experience in a leadership role required.
  • Prior experience in a production environment required.
  • Working knowledge of process, equipment, and computer operating systems, specifically Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics AX, SharePoint and AS400 is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint is a plus
