The Director of Security (LATAM) plans, manages and directs the evaluation, development, and implementation of physical security programs to ensure facility, transportation , and warehouse safety standards are met and risks mitigated. This position oversees the safe operation and risk minimization for LATAM operations and warehouse facilities, directing and advising upper management and local teams on security and loss prevention policies and procedures . Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Security & Chief Security Officer , this role will be a primary point of contact for all security and risk management related matters in LATAM . This person will work directly with leadership in operations and warehouse centers to oversee the security function, continuously improve security performance, and share best practices between facilities .

Your role:

  • Lead a team of physical security professionals across LATAM.

  • Prepare, plan, implement, and achieve security procedures to safeguard Ingram Micro's business, customers, vendors and associates in all operations and warehouse facilities in the U.S.

  • Refine and implement an incident response program aligned with key stakeholders.

  • Lead and grow the security operations for both warehouse and office locations.

  • Develop and maintain strong partner relationships and effective implementation of security and loss prevention strategies with upper management, internal and external stakeholders and site leadership teams.

  • Establish and drive loss prevention key performance metrics through effective communication, standardized reporting, best practice implementation and fully supported by internal audit procedures across all LATAM operations.

  • Provide proactive support for all operations functions and locations to ensure efforts are optimized and coordinated throughout the LATAM while supporting a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Plans, develops and implements procedures to audit, obtain and maintain security improvement programs across business units and operations.

  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, standards, training and methods for identifying and protecting intellectual property assets, personnel, property, facilities, operations or inventory.

  • Manages security services to safeguard (property, information and personnel) from loss or harm due to unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, espionage or sabotage.

  • Develops business plans and maintains close relationships with law enforcement, intelligence and private sector counterparts for incident response and best practices.

  • Provides thought leadership to sites with respect to annual planning, prevention, audit, inventory control, physical security, investigations and rapid response.

  • Refine executive protection guidelines in support of business objectives .

  • Ensure timely and accurate communications with those affected by incidents.

  • Manages complexity, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of security operations.

  • Ensures associates receive appropriate safety training and fosters a workplace safety culture.

What you bring to the role:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (verbal and written).

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (e.g., criminal justice, security management, public safety, criminology, business or equivalent ) master's degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience working in corporate security functions with strong executive leadership, leading large, cross-functional teams through regional leaders across LATAM.

  • Proven success in managing the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certification process.

  • Knowledge of Federal, State and local regulations , national standards, and best practices relating to security systems.

  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Security Manager (CSM) preferred.

  • Law enforcement relationships are required , and prior law enforcement experience is a plus .

  • Executive protection program management.

  • 3rd party vendor management experience.

  • Prior experience leading complex investigations in the region.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization including operational personnel as well as executive leadership on the status of security and issues surrounding enterprise risk management decisions.

  • Excellent technical, interpersonal, and analytical skills required .

  • Effective communication and influencing skills across global audiences.

  • Strong computer and systems knowledge, including experience with multiple access control systems.

  • Experience in contract negotiations.

  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion concerning highly confidential and/or privileged information.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/audits, analyze data, identify trends and develop appropriate safeguards and preventive solutions.

  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of physical security and technologies. Must understand and be familiar with current industry and market trends for physical security.

  • Ability to direct, advise and provide guidance on strategic matters to the local LATAM security teams.

  • Ability to articulate with a high standard of verbal clarity. Skilled at establishing rapport verbally with strong questioning and listening skills.

  • Impeccable reputation and ethics with the ability to obtain security clearances up to Top Secret clearance.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% within the assigned region.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $151,200.00 - $264,600.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
