Benefits Coordinator (Project Management)



Position Overview:

 

The primary job function of the Benefits Coordinator is to act as the primary employee benefit programs contact and is responsible for the enrollment, orientation, and upkeep of information and accurate record keeping related to employees' participation in company benefit plans. This position will perform various Human Resources support tasks as needed.

 

Essential Functions:

 

Benefits Administration

  • Set up and maintain benefit information in various HR databases, e.g. HRB, 401k, Flex Spending Accounts, Dental, STD, LTD, Billing Vendor.
  • Answer team member benefit questions and work with plan providers for clarification or issue resolution.
  • Conduct presentations and meetings to explain benefits to employees.
  • Notify providers of benefit terminations and prepare employee benefit plan termination and conversion letters.
  • Create and maintain employee benefit files and provider records.
  • Assist team members with enrollment in benefit programs.
  • Prepare and submit monthly billings.
  • Answer team member benefit questions.
  • Liaison with insurance providers on behalf of employees and work with plan providers for clarification or issue resolution.
  • Inform employees of any changes to their benefits.
  • Assisting with payroll
  • Other duties as assigned

HR Administration

  • Prepare new hire packets, conduct new hire orientation and related documentation, and assemble personnel file.
  • Assist with HR mailings, newsletters, employee meetings, and team member activities.
  • Perform other HR duties and projects as assigned.

 

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Excellent verbal skills and phone etiquette
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products and various HRIS systems
  • Confidentiality
  • Customer service driven
  • Able to multi-task
  • Punctual

 

 

Education:   

  • Degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • Professional certification in Human Resources is favorable.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products and UltiPro preferred
  • Confidentiality
  • Customer service driven
  • Able to multi-task
  • Punctual

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • General office conditions, including periods of sitting, standing, walking
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
