Post Doctoral Fellow - Chemistry (Finance)

Description:

1. Receives/Reviews progress and evaluates results of experiments or projects under control or supervisory responsibility.
2. Recommends changes in research, testing or experimental procedures.
3. May be responsible for a single highly technical and complex piece of research equipment.
4. May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel.
5. May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control.
6. Operates with latitude for unreviewed action.
7. May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations.
8. Performs other job-related duties as required.

The Yang Laboratory at the Department of Chemistry is looking for a motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join the team. The research aims to study laser-induced electronic and structural dynamics of photoresponsive materials, molecular thin films, and interfacial systems. The experimental equipment is composed of an ultrafast laser system, optical instruments, an electron gun system, an amplified imaging assembly, an ultrahigh vacuum chamber assembly, and a number of surface science tools. The successful candidate will contribute to further advancement of the experimental setup and utilize electron- and light-based advanced methods to conduct materials and surface science research.

Duration: 12 months, renewable upon mutual agreement

Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Ph.D. in fields related to physical chemistry, physics, or a closely related discipline
2. Strong hands-on experience with laser or electron optics and time-resolved ultrafast pump-probe measurements
3. Knowledge of modern physical chemistry instruments
4. (Preferred) Experience in design and implementation of instrumentation and/or measurement automation

MQ: Requires singular knowledge of a specialized advanced professional discipline or the highest level of general business knowledge, normally acquired through attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. No experience is required.
