Director of Donor Relations (Finance)

JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for leading and executing Amoskeag Healths philanthropic strategy to cultivate a culture of giving and advance long-term financial sustainability. This role oversees major gifts, annual giving, donor engagement, corporate sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, and planned givingexcluding grant writing. The Director builds meaningful relationships with donors, Board members, community partners, and internal teams to foster investment in the organizations mission and growth.

Part-Time Salaried Position: 25-28 hours per week with flexibility for hours and hybrid work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Donor Cultivation & Stewardship (50%):
Lead development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising plan focused on individual, corporate, and legacy giving.Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major donors and prospective supporters.Manage donor engagement strategies including one-on-one outreach and impact reporting.Supervise a donor database and ensure accurate record-keeping, reporting, and donor recognition processes.Partner with leadership and Board members to expand philanthropic support and coach them on donor engagement strategies.Analyze fundraising trends and outcomes to inform strategic decisions.Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical fundraising standards.

Event Planning/Fundraising (25%):
Establish at least one annual signature benefit event as a distinct means of heightening the agencys community profile and advocating its philanthropic efforts.Lead the strategic planning and execution of fundraising events (e.g., annual gala, donor receptions, cultivation events, community appreciation days).Develop and manage event timelines, budgets, and logistics from concept through post-event evaluation.Collaborate with marketing and communications staff to promote events and maximize attendance and sponsorship.Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, venues, and volunteers to ensure seamless event operations.Secure and steward in-kind donations and corporate sponsorships to support event fundraising goals.Track event performance metrics and ROI to inform future event planning.Ensure all events align with organizational branding, mission, and donor engagement strategy.

Strategic Planning & Organizational Collaboration (20%):
Serve as staff liaison to the Boards Marketing and Development Committee. Recruit new members to the Committee and build a volunteer base for events.Collaborate with Marketing/Communications staff to design compelling donor materials and campaigns.Develop and maintain donor and charitable gaming tracking and reporting mechanisms with the Finance Department.Coordinate with Community Initiatives staff to identify strategic community events for Amoskeag Health representation and visibility.Attend and participate in Amoskeag Health meetings as directed, including the monthly Board of Directors meetings.

General Operations (5%):
Demonstrate positive, respectful communication with internal teams, donors, and community partners at all times. Consistently model a high standard of professionalism, integrity, collaboration, and accountability. Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural diversity of population being served.Attend mandatory safety-related and infection control in-services as designated by the Senior Management Team.
