Description:
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern works closely with the manufacturing engineering team to execute tasks that directly contribute to the manufacturing and assembly of Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Job Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Develops and writes work instructions, sequence of operations as well as time estimates for each operation specification. Focused exclusively on Assembly processes.
- Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities that positively affect safety, the environment, quality, reliability, and productivity or improve the overall suitability and effectiveness of the management system, its processes, and products
- Analyzes existing assembly methods and proposes new methods to improve cost, reliability and quality of products and processes
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Program, in good academic standing
- Must have a minimum of two years enrollment in said program.
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Must be proficient in process writing, documentation
Work Environment
- On-site role with primary work at one of the following office: North Kingstown, RI
- Primarily office-based with opportunities to visit customers or demo sites.
- Regular use of computer equipment; occasional movement around labs or factory floor.
- May involve light lifting (up to 15 lbs) of equipment or demonstration tools.
- Team-oriented environment with collaborative problem-solving and technical engagement.
