Paint Technician (Manufacturing)



TBEI – Tishomingo is a cutting-edge manufacturer of Class 3-8 truck bodies and truck and trailer hoists.
Come join our growing team! We are currently looking to add Paint Techs to our growing team. We are currently offering a $1000 sign-on bonus. Competitive payrate with weekly attendance bonus and quarterly profit sharing.

Job Summary:

The Finish Paint Technician is responsible for meeting customer requirements by safely setting up and operating painting equipment to apply primer and finish coatings to truck bodies and components. This role supports continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives by following established processes, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and contributing suggestions for improvement. Technicians must be flexible to rotate duties based on team needs, schedules, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate spray guns and painting equipment to apply finish coatings.
  • Assist with part movement and positioning using overhead chain hoists and pallet jacks.
  • Perform surface prep including sanding and cleaning.
  • Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times, including respirator hood systems, gloves, safety glasses, and coveralls.
  • Work in physically demanding environments including kneeling, crouching, bending, climbing, and working inside truck bodies.
  • Rotate jobs to meet production schedules and safety protocols.
  • Maintain equipment and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality finishes.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to meet company goals.

Tools & Equipment Used:

  • Spray guns, overhead chain hoists, pallet jacks, sanders, grinders, cleaning equipment, and hand tools.

PPE & Safety Gear:

  • Respirator hood system (certification required), safety glasses, safety shoes, earplugs, gloves, grinding shield, and protective coveralls.

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Mandatory overtime as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Must pass respirator certification and wear required PPE.
  • Minimum two years of education or equivalent experience in automotive painting.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs. using hoists.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in physically demanding and varied positions.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work across departments and adapt to production needs.
