Summary
The Business Unit Director maintains full responsibility for assigned business unit, including profitability, product management, budgeting, and business unit operations. The BUD is the leader of the sales, operations, and customer service teams, providing direction, guidance, performance coaching, and support to each member of the team. The BUD is responsible for aligning the Kansas City business units objectives with HUB INCs overall strategic vision and long-term goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the business units strategic plan in alignment with HUBs organizational goals.Lead, coach, and inspire managers and team members to achieve and exceed performance targets.Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and growth opportunities to enhance business performanceDrive revenue growth by developing and implementing sales strategies that expand the customer base and increase market share.Work cross functionally with the Sales Director to establish goals, monitor progress, and ensure consistent achievement of sales targets.Analyze sales performance and market intelligence to adjust strategies and capitalize on new opportunities.Build and maintain strong customer partnerships by proactively engaging in understanding needs and providing solutions.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enable scalable growth, efficiency, and profitability.Manage full P&L accountability, including budgeting, revenue growth, and margin optimization.Deliver regular reporting and provide insights into the Senior Director of Operations on performance and growth opportunities.Foster a performance-driven culture centered on growth, accountability, and customer focus.Implement succession planning, talent development, and workforce strategies to ensure long-term operational and sales strength.
Qualifications & Success Factors
Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related experience 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, warehousing, or distributionideally within a CPG or wholesale environment.Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on operational execution.Strong business development mindset with demonstrated success in acquiring new customers and expanding existing accounts.Entrepreneurial drive, resilience, and focus on results, growth, and customer loyalty.Analytical thinker with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and performance improvement.
