Lead IT Engineer for High Performance Computing (Finance)



As a Lead IT Engineer for High Performance Computing (HPC) here at Honeywell, you will be at the forefront of our technology initiatives, driving the design and implementation of high-performance computing solutions that enhance our operational capabilities. Your expertise will be crucial in optimizing our computing resources and ensuring that our systems operate at peak efficiency. Honeywell's HPC infrastructure spans hundreds of computers in different regions around the world, includes Generative AI workloads, GPU acceleration of batch processing for simulation and modeling, and requires extensive knowledge of troubleshooting and engineering Linux operating systems, InfiniBand networking, parallel file system storage, and familiarity with Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) packages such as software packages like Siemens StarCCM+, Ansys suite, and Cadence.

You will report directly to our IT Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ, Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC or Norcross, GA and open to other locations on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact our ability to leverage advanced computing technologies to solve complex problems, streamline processes, and drive innovation across the organization.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, specifically in high-performance computing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of computing architectures, parallel processing, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, bash, Perl, or similar, and experience with HPC software tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and their integration with high-performance computing solutions.

WE VALUE
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in managing high-performance computing clusters and environments, including the use of tools such as SLURM and HPCM.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices in computing environments.

THE BUSINESS UNIT

The HPC team is part of the Compute, Infrastructure and Storage (CIS) in the Corporate IT business unit. The CIS team is responsible for global end to end design, implementation and operations of our server compute infrastructure. Inclusive of server, storage, backup, data recovery, web hosting, compliance and security controls.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement high-performance computing solutions to support various business needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize computing resources and improve system performance.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot computing systems to ensure optimal operation and reliability.
