Electromechanical Assembler (Manufacturing)



Purpose: Assemble subassemblies, follow schematics, drawings, and other written and verbal specifications by performing the following duties:
Essential functions and responsibilities:

Read and follow blueprints and specifications to determine component parts and assembly sequences of electromechanical units per company procedures.
Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and sub-assemblies, using hand tools and electronic tooling.
Assemble parts or units; position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or chassis, using hand tools or electronic tools.
Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
Installs moving parts, such as shafts or bearings, and tests for free movement.
Surface mount and through-hole soldering and under-microscope soldering.
Knowledge of wire color code and the gauges of wires.
Be familiar with circular, D-sub, and other connectors.
Cable and harnessing, to include routing, solder sleeves, splicing, and wax string lacing.
Inserts color-coded wires in designated locations on connectors and clinches wire ends.
Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

Non-essential functions:

Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.

Follows assembly procedures per Company procedures
Build and assemble wire harnesses (handling small, intricate, and delicate mechanical parts)
Experience with surface mount and under-microscope soldering
Experience with wire color code and the gauges of wires
Experience with circular, D-sub, other connectors, wires, and pins
Experience with torque drivers and wrenches
Use of small hand tools (crimpers, strippers, and pliers)
