About the Role

The Power Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining low-code/no-code solutions using Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Virtual Agents. This role plays a critical part in digital transformation efforts by automating business processes, creating data-driven applications, and enabling self-service capabilities for internal teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable apps using Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven).
  • Develop automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline business operations.
  • Create custom connectors and integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Azure, and external systems.
  • Leverage Dataverse and/or SharePoint lists for data storage, management, and governance.
  • Develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Ensure data modeling and transformation meets business intelligence needs.
  • Integrate various data sources securely and efficiently.
  • Partner with business units to gather requirements, provide training, and support citizen developers.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and maintain platform health.
  • Advocate for Power Platform best practices, governance, and security policies.
  • Implement DLP policies, environment strategies, and access controls.
  • Monitor app usage and performance across environments.
  • Participate in change management processes and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft Power Platform tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven), Power Automate, Python and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Dataverse, Microsoft 365, Azure Logic Apps, SharePoint, and SQL.
  • Experience with JavaScript, Power Fx, JSON, and REST APIs.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate or Developer Associate (preferred).
  • Experience integrating Power Platform with Dynamics 365 or Azure services (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) in Power Platform (preferred).
  • Experience with Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Kit (preferred).
  • Ability to balance attention to detail with need to quickly deliver results.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across both operational and technical teams.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
  • Duties are performed via a government approved computer system. Employees must possess strong computer skills in MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to type 55 wpm.

Work Environment

This is a remote opportunity where occasional travel could be required.  Since this is a remote role, you must have a dedicated workspace conducive to full videoconferencing (camera and audio) for facilitating webinars and online discussions.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position that typically works business hours Monday through Friday. Hours may vary depending on needs and may at times include travel, evenings, or weekends to meet specific project requirements or time zones.

Condition of Employment

  • Complete a rigorous culture and competency testing process.
  • Complete a Drug Test.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's license.
  • Have the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.

Security Clearance/Background Check Requirements

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Internal background check to the satisfaction of contract requirements.
  • Child Abuse/Neglect Report (CAN) or child protective services check with no adverse findings
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • U.S. Residency requirement - 3 consecutive years in the last 5 years.

Physical Demands

  • Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees.
  • Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: 10% of the time.
  • Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 10% of the time.
  • Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
  • Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
