Job Summary
Work related to the construction, maintenance, inspection and/or repair of infrastructure including equipment operation and/or maintenance in the field for equipment specific to water supply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Controls, monitors, and records reservoir levels, dam conditions, and the diversion of water through the water supply system. Takes samples and measurements, and estimates flows in the water system.
• Ensures the Michigan Ditch water supply system remains operational.
• Directs and participates in high-depth snow removal.
• Participates in construction and maintenance work on various structures and improvements on the water supply system and at the water treatment facilities.
• Ensures that the City's Water Resource Engineer and the Water Resource and Planning Manager receive daily reports on reservoir readings, ditch readings, weather conditions, and river conditions.
• Verifies, finalizes, and conducts water releases according to plans prepared by the City's Water Resource Engineer and the Water Resource and Planning Manager.
• Responds to hazardous material spills in or near raw water supplies in accordance with Colorado HazMat standards.
• Participates in general building maintenance activities such as painting, cleaning, plumbing, carpentry and welding.
• Participates in the maintenance of the Water treatment Facility site including mowing, sprinkler repair and maintenance, weed control.
• Participates in the maintenance of water storage tanks and the processing and hauling of water treatment solids residuals
• Required to stay overnight on the Michigan Ditch during summer months
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to use snowshoes and operate in cold, windy, and snowy conditions at high elevations.

Required Education and Experience
