Assistant Director of Operations, Men's Basketball (Project Management)



Provide assistance to the Director of Basketball Operations/Chief of Staff with the administration and operations consistent with the mission and values of Oklahoma Basketball by providing student-athletes with the resources necessary to compete for championships, excel in the classroom, and prepare for successful lives after graduation.
 
Essential Functions: 
  • Coordinate and lead daily operations of practice, workouts & weekly schedule
  • Manage support functions and facilities--cleanliness, safety, security adequacy for practices and events
  • Assist the Director of Basketball Operations with events and facilities to coordinate scheduling day-to-day practices, event set-up, logistics and operations
  • Assist the Director of Basketball Operations, Dietician, and Director of Performance with team calendar, scheduling and budget planning, food and beverage 
  • Assist the Director of Basketball Operations with the coordination and execution of all facets of team travel and logistics including, but not limited to: 
    • Charter flight coordination
    • Team hotel meals and meeting rooms
    • Guest rooms
    • Ground transportation

  • Input expense reports to Concur for staff members and program
  • Input all relevant team and player commitments and events on Teamworks (monitor RARA/CARA)
  • Visiting Team Liaison to coordinate practice & shoot around logistics and locker room needs 
  • Assists with all recruiting visits, events and operations
  • Assist with coaches & video coordinator with film, scouting reports, analytics and recruiting
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach

Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree AND;

  • 12 months of collegiate experience in assigned sport or closely related experience. 

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree

Skills:

  • Prior experience in management of others
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented
  • Advanced knowledge of HUDL, Teamworks, ARMS, & Concur
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Comply with all University and NCAA rules

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motion
  • Standard office environment
  • Frequent pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods

Departmental Preferences:

  • 2 years' experience in collegiate or professional basketball operations or equipment services
  • Prior athletic experience
