Sr Analyst, Tax Processing (Finance)

The key responsibilities of the role include:
1. Monitor, manage and resolve client queries relating to foreign withholding tax documentation and international tax reclaims
2. Manage reporting to Client Servicing and clients where required.
3. Have an in depth understanding of the clients serviced, particularly their inherent traits (legal entity type for example) that impact international tax entitlements.
4. Serve as a primary contact for clients who have questions regarding tax documentation requirements and escalate to Client Services Team/Tax Operations when appropriate
5. Understanding the various systems used by the International Tax group, specifically Xceptor and Dynamics.
6. Investigate and identify root causes of errors, engage with Tax Operations to rectify and remediate where appropriate
7. Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function
8. A subject matter expert, provide comprehensive, in-depth consulting to team and partners
9. Role is balanced between high level operational execution and client service
10. Work as a liaison between the client, Client Servicing and the rest of Custody Tax Operations.

The successful candidate will benefit from having:
A College or University degree is preferred and/or global custody and client servicing work experience are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, prior engagement with clients or front office advantageous. Strong Microsoft Excel skills are preferred as the current method we use to prepare our metrics. Knowledge of system capabilities, analytical skills, and financial industry experience particularly relating to the broad spectrum of entity types and the income flow process obtained by experience in related areas, formal training or prior experience. General knowledge of Northern Trust's global markets and tax operational processes is preferred. Analytical and problem solving skills are preferred. All tax knowledge and system knowledge can be learned on the job.

Salary Range:
$47,500 - 71,300 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
